A Leap of Faith

Understand the hidden treasures of Hanuman through asana, pranayama, mantra, mudra and meditation.

In Yoga it is believed that the universe is composed of refractions of light called Devatas. The first Devata is OM and each division of OM has a specific seed sound (mantra), a geometric pattern (yantra) and a more concrete form (a deity), which the everyday person can relate to. The deities are brought to life through stories recorded in the Puranas or in larger texts like the Ramayana.

One of the main characters in the Ramayana is the devoted monkey king, Hanuman who undertakes a huge task. He devotes himself completely to his master Ram and promises to rescue his beloved Sita from the clutches of the evil demon Ravana. Through a series of magical adventures Hanuman achieves his goal and Sita and Ram are reunited. The story of Hanuman is a parable for the human journey. It is one of bravery, courage and faith that no matter what the challenges, the heart knows best.

The Yoga of Lakshmi

Bringing beauty, devotion, health and abundance into everyday life
through the practices of asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, mudra,
yantra and ritual.

Lakshmi is the essence of beauty and
abundance. We feel her energy when life flows with ease and grace. In
yoga philosophy, deities such as Lakshmi are called ‘shining lights’
because their qualities illuminate our lives whenever we embody them.

In some texts Lakshmi was the great mother and gave birth to all the
other deities. Lakshmi is also full of Ojas, which means vigour, or life
force. The practice of specific postures, pranayamas and mantras
increase the Ojas in our system, strengthening our immune system
enabling us to live healthier more radiant lives.

In this workshop we will explore, through the practices of asana,
pranayama, mantra, mudra, yantra and a simple but profound tantric
ritual, ways to embody the essence of Lakshmi, as well as looking deeper
into the philosophy behind these practices.

Living from the Heart

Through the practice of Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, Mudra Meditation

In Yoga the heart is said to be the place where our personality and deep feelings reside; in the tradition of Tantra it is seen as the home of our soul and the balance point between our material existence and the realm of greater self-awareness.

The latest studies in neuroscience have found that the heart begins to beat in the unborn baby even before the brain is formed and that it has an electromagnetic energy field 5,000 times greater than that of the brain and can be measured with magnetometers up to 10 feet beyond the physical body; scientific proof that our hearts literally radiate the frequency of love.

How then can we live from our hearts amidst the day-to-day challenges of a busy modern lifestyle? Join Rachel for a workshop, which explores, through the yogic practices of asana, pranayama, mantra, mudra and meditation ways to open and balance the heart.

The Power Of Yantra

Manifest beauty and abundance by creating a Yantra and infusing it with dreams & prayers

In many cultures the formation of Yantras and Mandalas are an integral part of spiritual tradition. A Mandala or Yantra can be used as an aid to meditation, drawn as a symbol of welcoming or celebration, or displayed as a work of sacred art.

In some of the eastern spiritual traditions Yantras were used as tools for the worship and embodiment of various deities. The Yantra was thought to represent the physical body of a deity while its mantra was the reflection of its mind. It was believed that by internally visualising the yantra the devotee would become the deity and embody its attributes. No matter what their purpose Yantras are potent tools for transformation and liberation and connect us with who we naturally are.

Please note: this is an asana free workshop, no yoga experience necessary to attend.
